Apprentice Lead
Job Family: Learning and Development
5 day week
(12.30pm finish on a Friday).
Salary banding - £30k per annum
Main Purpose of Role
To manage the apprenticeship scheme and development of current apprentices and L&D co-ordinators.
Responsibilities/ Tasks
Managing over 150 apprentices across 6 sites
Completing apprentice reviews every 3 months with South Devon College
Ensure regular learner support
Set personalised learning plans to motivate and inspire apprentices to achieve and progress
Conduct workplace assessments to monitor learner development, generating evidence to assist with the Gateway and EPA phase
Liaise with mentors and managers to insure the apprentice is supported and rotated around the boat during their apprenticeship
Complete return to work interviews with apprentices after absence
Manage apprentice compliance training and organise training courses for all apprentices
Support apprentices academically and with welfare throughout their apprenticeship
Regular welfare meetings with apprentices
Liaise with training providers regarding new apprenticeships and current apprenticeship training
Attend webinars and events to keep up to date with the latest apprenticeship news
Manage the apprenticeship Levy account and reporting to head of L&D
Engage with operations managers to support staff development using the apprenticeship levy
Engage and work with local schools and colleges to promote recruitment through careers fairs
Manage and develop our Apprentice learning management system ‘FROG’
Maintain strong relationships across all sites with HRBPs, Site Directors and Leads/Managers to review current and future development needs
Person Specification
To have completed a Level 3 Assessors qualification or equivalent
Able to demonstrate effective communication skills as the role requires liaising with training providers and apprentices
Capability to conduct effective time & task management across multiple projects/tasks
Experience using Microsoft Office Packages
An eye for detail
To work as part of a team with the flexibility and adaptability to help others when required
Resilient and comfortable working on multiple projects within a face paced, fast changing and challenging working environment.
Experience in designing development interventions using the latest methodologies and confident and adaptable to deliver to both individuals and a group. Understand wellbeing strategies to support pastoral care.
Expert knowledge of apprentice schemes from source to qualification/placement is strongly advantageous.
