39 hours - Monday to Thursday 7:30am - 4:30pm
Friday 7:30am - 12:30pm
Salary
£25,000-£35,000 per annum (depending on experience)

Main purpose of role
Providing support to the Naval Architecture team, the Naval Architect (Compliance Engineer) role is responsible for a dedicated focus on the regulatory and technical requirements pertinent to each model; ensuring that these are met in a safe, pragmatic and cost-effective manner.
Acting as an ambassador for Princess Yachts, operating with integrity and drive appropriate to the Company’s values, to promote Princess as a market leader.
Responsibilities/ Tasks
Core Role:
Supporting the introduction of new models to the business;

- Authoring of specific drawings, models or other technical data which is necessary to demonstrate compliance to the relevant Rules or Regulations.
- Coordinating weight control with Development & Production teams on new build models and NSO team on subsequent slots.
- Supporting survey activities with the notified body.
- Assisting with Inclining Experiments in accordance with industry best practice in a safe manner, protecting personnel and the yacht under assessment.
- Assisting with Intact stability assessments of relevant loading conditions for each vessel dependent on requirements.
- Collation and submission of all relevant documentation required for compliance verification, including Technical Documentation packages to demonstrate compliance with the Recreational Craft Directive.
- Hands-on involvement in design activities with the ability to provide technical guidance at all levels in the solution of a variety of design challenges.
- Continuous development of your knowledge with relevant rules, flag state legislation and associated international standards development to inform and protect business interests.

Person Specification
Personal Ability
- Working towards or have achieved a Naval Architecture or Marine Engineering degree qualification, or relevant experience in lieu.
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel.
- Good Knowledge of Siemens NX or similar software packages.
- Working knowledge or understanding of Maxsurf, Rhino 6 and Siemens Teamcenter
- Conversant with both regulatory and nautical terminology
- An understanding of the Recreational Craft Directive/Regulations, associated ISO Standards and international shipping regulations together with their practical application to the business.
