Princess Yachts are currently recruiting for a skilled Hardwood Machinist to work at their Coypool site here in Plymouth TODAY!

Hardwood Machinist

Basic Pay £14.80

Overtime £19.64 – 25.15

 

We run various shift patterns ranging from

Early shift (6.00 - 15.30) Monday – Thursday

Back shift (15.00 -12.30 am) Monday – Thursday

Day shift (7.00 -17.00) Monday – Thursday

Night shift (19.00 - 4.30) Monday – Thursday

Weekend shift (6.00 – 18.00) Friday - Sunday

 

Shift Premium is an additional £2.66 for Back shift/ Night shift and Weekend shift

Shift Premium is an additional 0.84p for Early shift

 

Pre-Entry Qualification/experience

  • Previous experience is required in the form of an NVQ or City and Guilds / 12 months experience within a Wood Machinist environment.                   
  • Post-employment up to 6 months training to reach desired quality standard.
  • CNC programming experience
  • Experience in use of a varied range of hand tools/machines including computer controls

 

Duties

  • To produce component parts to drawings, cutting lists or computerised programs.
  • To produce basic components from semi-automatic woodworking machines and / or detailed press machines (RF & Vacuum Press)
  • Selection of materials, manufacture parts to correct standard, machine materials to information in drawings or cutting lists and minor program changes as required
  • Responsibility for finished products as well as work in progress
  • Seeks authorisation for decisions made
  • Accessing programs for machines
  • Amend/re-write programs as necessary for new components
  • Setting up machines prior to use
  • Cutting material to size using a variety of machines
  • Shaping, bending, folding, drilling components
